If there's one thing that brings me a sense of calm, it's a routine.

My Sundays normally all start pretty much the exact same way.

I wake up, make a cup of coffee, I settle into the couch to do some work,

and then I turn on that morning slate of English Premier League games.

Soccer has been in my life for as long as I can remember,

from playing as a young kid and into high school, watching the US men's national team in the World Cup

and supporting Manchester United since 1999.

Simply put, the game and the culture surrounding it calms me in a way that's difficult to really describe.

This past English Premier League season, I spent more mornings and I can count with NBCSN commentator Tim Howard on my television.

Former Everton and Manchester United goalkeeper, legendary US men's national team goalie,

and current minority owner and sporting director of Memphis 901 FC,

he's found his way into my routine throughout the years,

and now he's found his way into the panic room.
