Summary

We’ve noticed something: the end of school and start of summer always makes it suddenly clear how dang much our kids have grown. They’re smarter, they’re taller, they’re more capable, and all that means…it’s time to level up! We think summer is a great time to teach new life skills, reset chores and responsibilities, and also grant expanded freedoms to growing kids. In Episode 315 Meagan and Sarah talk about summer resets generally, and Summer 2021 more specifically – what our kids are ready for, where they need some support in the independence department, and how we’re planning on expanding their worlds this summer. 0:26.6	hour. I am Megan Francis here with Sarah Powers. Hey Sarah. Hey Megan. How are
0:30.6	you? I'm great. Okay. It's been a really long time since we've done this but
0:33.9	what is the weather like where you are right now? Oh we used to talk about the
0:38.1	weather all the time when we started. And then people told us to knock it
0:40.8	off. They were like maybe a little less like we'll just get to the topic. Well
0:45.8	you visited me a couple of weeks ago and so you know that if you are in coastal
0:50.6	California in May and June, it's often cooler and greater than you think. So
0:55.9	right now it's probably 62 and like kind of cool kind of overcasty and then
1:01.0	the sun will break through later. How about you? Okay. So right now it is 63 and
1:05.8	sunny in southwest Michigan where I am and it has been hot this week. And so the
1:11.0	reason I bring up the reason I bring up weather isn't just idle curiosity or
1:15.8	to have something to talk about because I didn't plan well or something. But
1:19.5	because I want to point out that right now things are really rapidly changing
1:22.8	in Michigan. We are very close to the end of our school year and this is the
1:26.7	time of year everybody seems to be wanting to get out and do stuff. Yeah. And I
