Turn with me to Luke chapter 7. Luke chapter 7, continuing on with our theme of being set up for deep offense, five different things that set us up for a life of being offended if we don't place our faith in the rock.

Luke chapter 7, I want to start, I think I've got down 19 through 28, but I want to start at 18.

Luke 7, 18.

Then John's disciples told him about all these things.

So John summoned two of his disciples and sent them to the Lord asking,

are you the one who is to come or should we look for someone else?

Now at this point, John has been in prison.

As you may well know, he's just waiting, having his

head served on a platter. Now here's the very forerunner of Christ Jesus in jail. And you can

imagine if you are in prison and all you have time to do is think, you talk about a set-up for

offense. Talk about thinking, okay okay exactly what am i doing in here

if i'm who i think i am and you are who i think you are somebody explained to me what on the ever

love and earth i'm doing here and so he sends them to go find out are you the one of course he

already knows this it's sort of to say uh hello hello cousin in the third cell you know see what I'm

saying okay says then when the man when the men reached him I'm at verse 20 they said

John the Baptist sent us to ask you are you the the one who is to come, or should we look for someone else? At that time, Jesus healed many people of diseases, plagues, and evil spirits, and he granted sight to many blind people. He replied to them, go and report to John the things you have seen and heard. The blind received their sight, the lame walk.

Those with skin diseases are healed. The death here, that debt are raised and the poor have the good

news preach to them. And anyone who is not offended because of me is blessed. There's our word.

Anyone who is not offended. That's a form of that same word, scandal on. Because of me is blessed. And after John's messengers left, he began to speak to the crowds about John. What did you go out into the wilderness to see, a wreath swaying in the wind? What then did you go out to see a man dressed in soft robes? Look, those who are splendidly dressed and live in luxury are in royal palaces. What then did you go out to see a man dressed in soft robes look those who are splendidly dressed and live in luxury
