Summary

Leslie continues the Emotional Health series with an exploration of true Biblical rest. While the culture promotes a version of rest that is temporal and self-focused, God's pattern for rest is Christ-centered, eternally focused, and restorative at the soul-level. In this episode Leslie offers several practical, Biblical keys to experiencing true rest in any circumstance or season of life.

Hi, I'm Leslie Lutty, host of the Setaparte podcast, Biblical Encouragement for Women.

0:04.9

We are in our emotional health series, and I am really excited about the message today,

0:10.1

which is all about finding true biblical rest.

0:13.4

I don't meet very many women, no matter what age or season of life we might be in,

0:17.9

that don't feel busy and overwhelmed and like we've just got too much on our

0:21.4

plate and it's hard to find that place of rest and peace. That is definitely something I have

0:26.3

struggled with through the years being a mom, being in full-time ministry, and just living in the

0:31.0

fast pace of this culture. Our culture gives us a specific way to approach rest that is very

0:36.2

self-focused and only really provides a temporary

0:39.5

solution for our need for rest. But God's version of rest is really at the soul level. And if we

0:45.4

want to be emotionally healthy, we have to learn his pattern for deep, lasting, eternally focused,

0:51.6

Christ-centered rest. So before we dive in, I wanted to let you know

0:55.2

that space is feeling very quickly for our 26th Setapart conference, which is happening May 22nd

1:01.1

and 23rd of this year at the Ellersley campus. The on-campus space is basically all sold out.

1:07.7

You can still join the wait list for that, but you can still join us in person because there are a lot of great hotels in the area, some within walking distance. So you can just go to setapart.org and look at the stay off campus options. If you'd like to join us in person, we would love to have you. It's such a special weekend. It's such a set apart, peaceful experience to just be away from the cares and the distractions of life and

1:28.6

just immerse yourself in truth and be just edified by like-minded fellowship. If you can't

1:33.9

join us in person, though, I would love to encourage you to stream a simulcast of this event.

1:38.7

Once you register for a simulcast, you'll have access not only during the conference weekend,

1:43.3

but all throughout the rest of

1:44.3

2026. So if it's something you want to share with other women in your life, host an event at your

1:49.0

church or in your home. It's a great opportunity to share some of these truths with women in your life.

1:54.2

So just go to setapart.org, click on events or you can click the link in this podcast description.
