Welcome to The Untold Story Podcast, everybody. I'm Martha McCallum, and I'm really pleased to have with me, Florida Congressman Michael

Waltz today.

And just by way of background, for those of you who I guess have been living under Iraq and don't know a lot about Congressman Waltz, he's the first green beret to serving Congress from Florida, combat decorated veteran, former White House and Pentagon Advisor.

So, you know, I'd love to talk to you about what happened last week at the NATO meeting in Lithuania,

because the more that we, that's revealed about what was going on behind the scenes here,

I think the more we understand how tense it really was.

Obviously, the president of Ukraine, Volodemir Zelensky,

wants to be part of NATO.

He wants guarantees, assurances, and he called the process

of pushback unprecedented and absurd.

So he was pretty fired up.

What can you tell us about the backstory here?

Well, NATO had, I mean, excuse me, Ukraine and actually Georgia, if you remember, the Russian invasion back in 2008.
