0:38.4	Alex, welcome. So good to be here. I want to start by asking about what happened in Spain. This
0:44.3	was the big news of the week for me. The fire right party in Spain was resurgent. It was doing
0:49.8	well in the polls. It was anti-woke. It was talking about immigration and abortion and it wound up
0:57.0	imploding and they didn't get into power at all. Is this something that Democrats are hopeful
1:04.0	will happen in 2024 that this culture war stuff is going to backfire on the Republicans?
1:11.2	Absolutely. And I think actually some Democrats would argue it already happened in 2022 and in
1:17.4	2018 when you saw Democrats essentially make huge gains in both houses of Congress where voters were
1:27.8	a little bit more concerned about stability and sort of went the normy route. And honestly,
1:33.1	this is at the heart of Joe Biden's case for his presidency in 2020. And again, in 2024,
1:40.2	which is let's lower the temperature, let's try to bring things back to normal. So Democrats,
1:46.3	especially in DC, sort of takes office in insurgent right wingers, not doing as well as maybe some
1:53.7	of the media predictions made it out to be at some point. How's Donald Trump doing? He was kind
2:00.3	of expected to face another indictment this week. He did face new charges and an existing indictment,
2:06.3	but he didn't get that new indictment that people were expecting. The fact of the matter is that
2:11.6	Donald Trump has sort of used these indictments as a tool for martyrdom since his first indictment
2:18.7	in New York. His fundraising has improved, his polling has improved, and none of his rivals are
2:24.7	able to really get much oxygen, except when they are put on air to be asked about Donald Trump's
2:30.8	indictments. The other big topic of gossip and conversation in Washington this week was Mitch McConnell
