Hello, I'm at Hampton Court Palace today. It's a cold February day and it's so foggy,

you can actually barely see the palace walking in.

I'm walking through the courtyards and I'm going to a door

because behind this door is the office space.

Now again, it is really cold today.

Normally I'm the envy of all my colleagues at Hampton Court because it's normally very warm in this

office but unfortunately this week the heater is broken and we're waiting for a part so I'm

as cold as everyone else and on a day like this you can see why the Tudors dressed in

almost thick layers and all that fur because this building is not very well insulated

at all and sadly we can't have roaring fires today to keep us warm which they would have done in the past.

I'm Matthew Storrho and I'm a collections curator at historic royal palaces.

I've worked across all our sites but I'm very lucky now

because at the moment I'm looking after the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection. And the

reason I wanted to share this space with you is because it's where the collection

is housed and I didn't realize how

special this space was to me until January 2021. I'd spent most of 2020 on

furlough because of the coronavirus pandemic and then with not very much time to do it,
