Summary

Our society tends to define success by how many things you accomplish. It starts when we’re just kids. We feel pressured to get involved in more sports, more clubs, and more activities. And as time goes on, our schedules just get more and more full! But that’s not how God defines success. As Pastor J.D. concludes our series called, God and the Rest of the Week, he challenges us to slow down and make room for rest.

Now let's learn from today's message titled a soul destroying busyness.

Luke chapter 10 verse 38. Now as they went on their way, they be in the disciples,

Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house, and she had a

sister called Mary who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching, but Martha was distracted

with much serving. In other words, she was really, really busy. And so she, Martha, went up to Jesus

and said, Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her to help me.

Right? Now she's titled telling a she feels self-righteous B, and now she's bossing Jesus around.

Right? Which is just not a good habit to get into. So we're talking three strikes here. Verse 41,

but the Lord answer her, Martha, Martha. You are anxious and you are troubled about many things,

but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion which will not be taken away from her.
