began a deadly rampage that saw 22 injured and four dead in his wake.

Dean Allen Melberg, in June of 1992, was sent to Lackland Air Force Base in Texas for basic training,

where, unable to get along with his fellow recruits, an Air Force psychiatrist recommended that he be discharged,

citing a, quote, personality disorder. Not going into any specifics, the recommendation was ignored,

and instead, Dean was graduated and sent to Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado, where he trained in aircraft

maintenance.
