you need to start your day. Vice President Kamala Harris used her speech at the Democratic National Convention yesterday to do a couple of things. First, she used it as an opportunity to introduce

herself to U.S. voters. Harris grew up in a working-class neighborhood in Oakland, California,

and was raised by her mother.

My mother never lost her cool. She was tough, courageous, a trailblazer in the fight

for women's health. She taught us to never complain about

injustice but do something about it. Do something about it.

Harris would be the first female US president if she wins in November.

On policy, she put reproductive rights front and center, along with the economy.

We will create what I call an opportunity economy, an opportunity economy where everyone

has the chance to compete and a chance to succeed.

And she put a lot of emphasis on supporting

the American middle class.
