Book Riot. What's up Amanda? Hello. Hello. That's all I have to say. I know. I don't

have anything to say either other than hello. Well, what are you reading? Tell me what you're reading. I am reading Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Shannon McGuire, which is the second, I'm pretty sure. Yeah.

The second book, it's the sequel to, oh, for the love of God. Every Heart is Doorway.

It's a sequel to some other book, I don't know, which is the series that Shannon is writing about, like, kids who fall through magical portals and end up in other worlds and then come back.

So the first book in the series, it's like at a boarding school where kids who came back from some magical world and just want to go home are learning to like readjust to society.

And then down among the sticks and bones is the story of the twins from that book,

from the first book,

who when they were younger stumbled into a world that was like very dark and there's like

vampires and crazy like mad scientists and stuff like that.

So they're sort of side-ish characters in the first book.

And in this one, it's specifically about their story and how they ended up in that world

and then ended up becoming the people that they are in the first book. So it's really great.

I mean, I have twins, so I'm like really interested in what she's doing with the nature versus

nurture thing. Because like she goes deep into their backstory about how their parents raised them with these very strict gender expectations
