0:05.6	300,000 people to COVID-19 here in the United States alone.
0:11.3	Saying it out loud, it's such an abstract incomprehensible number, right?
0:17.0	But if you've lost just one person, it's a universe of grief.
0:22.1	We all deal with loss in our own ways.
0:24.8	Some people journal.
0:26.4	Others meditate.
0:27.7	Some pray.
0:28.9	Jolene Levid, who you're going to meet in this episode, she counts.

0:37.3	And I remember saying I want to count because they're not going to count for us.

0:46.0	Jolene runs a site called Kanlugan, which is both a database and a memorial to Filipino

0:56.5	One reason she's doing this is because Filipino nurses are dying at a disproportionate rate.
1:01.8	A little over 30% of the nurses who've died of COVID-19 in this country are Filipino.
1:07.8	Yet Filipino nurses make up just 4% of the nation's nursing population.
1:13.1	It's another tragic statistic we might not be able to wrap our minds around.
