The... In the 5th century BC, the Greek historian Herodotus wrote of a fountain of youth in the land of Macrobeians.

Alexander the Great and King Preston John also searched for the fountain of youth

in the 4th century BC and the 11th and 12th centuries AD respectively.

And the legend became particularly prominent in the 16th century when it became associated

with the Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon, who supposedly discovered the mythical spring

in St. Augustine, Florida, a site that is still there today, known as the Fountain of Youth

Archaeological Park.

So tales of the fountain have been around for thousands of years, and explorers and adventurers

have looked for the fountain, believing that if they found it, it would be the remedy to aging,

that it would keep them young, that they could live forever, or at least cure sickness.

So that's a very short history of the fountain of youth, but what does that have to do with this?
