What the Supreme Court is saying is it doesn't matter what communities are actively harmed so long as you can't prove intent.

That was AOC commenting on the Blockbuster Supreme Court decision from yesterday in the Louisiana case.

And that was actually, by her standards, a fairly nuanced reaction.

There have been other reactions in which there is just shrieking about the horrors of this.

Do we have Chuck Schumer? I couldn't believe he said that yesterday.

Ah, I wish we'd grabbed it. What'd he say?

Especially in light of Saturday night's shooting, you know, and after every time there's violence,

we for like a half an hour say, we've got to lower the political rhetoric temperature

because of the violence, blah, blah, blah. He said yesterday it's the return of Jim Crow. Yeah. There you go. Which is another thing you could justify with violence. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I would take up guns to prevent the return of Jim Crow. As a white guy, I would. It's ridiculous anyway. Joe's about to explain what actually happened.

No, that's an excellent point. Barack Obama, for instance, just he is so deeply offended.

Today's Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act,

freeing state legislatures to gerrymander, legislative districts to systematically dilute

and weaken the voting power of racial minorities, blah, blah, blah, blah.

To which Tom Cotton replied, Obama has supported in campaign for every outrageous Democratic gerrymander, including in Illinois.
