Hello. Thanks for having us. It's an absolute pleasure to have you here.

Johnny, you wrote a magnificent article on Roy the Rovers on Football 365 a couple of years ago now, wasn't it?

What does Roy mean to you as someone who grew up reading the comics?

Well, I think it's really fascinating how these characters and stories become part of, not just of your childhood, but of your burgeoning imagination. And I think that as a writer, and I'm a novelist as well, as a football writer. They were my earliest influences in stimulating my

imagination to create other worlds. They were examples of places which kind of felt like they

really existed, but obviously were fictional, but you felt them to be kind of real. And when

it comes to writing novels, as I do now,

that's essentially what you're doing.

You're creating a world which doesn't exist,

but which people think really does,

and fictional people who appear to be real.
