Summary

Patrick Daugherty (@RotoPat) and Denny Carter (@CDCarter13) take a spin around the NFL news landscape as we wait for the conference championship round. They evaluate Bill O’Brien’s return to New England and what effect it might have on Mac Jones’ development. They then break down the latest Aaron Rodgers trade rumors and litigate how much of his 2022 struggles were related to the loss of Davante Adams. They discuss what kind of coordinator the Ravens should hire to replace Greg Roman and examine Gabriel Davis’ disappointing 2022. They end by talking Trevor Lawrence’s development and rank him against some of the league’s other young quarterbacks.

Hello everybody, welcome to the Roto World football show, I am Patrick Dirty, joined by Danny Carter on this fine Tuesday, now that the season's over, we can actually reveal what day of the show is recorded.

0:26.0

Tuesday, we are in the wake of the divisional round, we are getting ready for the conference championship round, which we will preview extensively on Thursday with myself, Danny, Kyle DeVorchick, and special guest, Richard Rebar.

0:38.0

All right, a lot of to say that on there, you may know him as Lord Reeves.

0:42.0

But there's some news to touch on today, like a lot of buzzy, a lot of clicky topics, like Aaron Rogers might get traded.

0:51.0

The Ravens are interviewing people, how should they fit in with Omar Jackson? Is Trevor Lawrence good? I mean, he's good, but we're going to talk about Trevor Lawrence again.

1:01.0

Talk about the Patriots, hiring Bill O'Brien, their new old offensive coordinator, Danny.

1:07.0

And what else do we talk about? There might be no, there's a special receiver that you want to talk about later.

1:14.0

But first, you had something you wanted to say, though, about, I mean, you talk about every playoffs, you know, there's storylines that get a lot of mileage that have like a whole lot to do with absolutely nothing, basically.

1:26.0

And one of them was the neutral site, potential neutral site, AFC championship game, which the bingles are acting like is like the only reason they even made the AFC championship game, the like disrespect from the league, setting up this potential venue for bills, chiefs.

1:42.0

But you also, you have some thoughts, too, that maybe align a little bit with what the bingles were thinking about the neutral site, AFC championship game that never was.

1:50.0

I just, when I, when I saw that the game was sold out, the neutral site game was sold out like four or five days before the divisional round, I was just, you know, wondering, you know, I didn't want to upset my bills, people on Twitter or anything.

2:05.0

And they're having a hard time. I get that. But it seemed very presumptuous to say, oh, I'm going to buy my tickets for the AFC championship game, because I'm always have to do is beat the bingles.

2:19.0

I, I thought it was a very evenly matched game. I think that the spread indicated that the bills haven't played well and I don't know two months.

2:29.0

No, we talked a lot about that in our recap pod how they have been winning, but this had not played well seriously.

2:35.0

It's been ugly. It's been ugly. Josh Allen has not played well in 60 days, at least. And that didn't change. He was bad again. The bills offense was bad again against the bangles against a really good bangles defense. It's a bangles defense that doesn't, I don't think does, it doesn't excel in any one thing, but it does everything really well.

2:55.0

Like it stops the run just well enough. It really caps the downfield passing game. They tackle well. I just, I don't, I don't know what, what compelled bills fans. Now chief fans, I get it. You're playing the Jaguars. No offense to my Jaguars people.

3:09.0

But, you know, that game shouldn't have been close. It should have been three, four touchdown victory for the chiefs if the homes was, was healthy. But the, the bills thing. I mean, you, you got to pump the brakes a little bit there.

3:20.0

If you notice that like no one beats the bingles ever anymore, except for like really random team, like the chiefs haven't beaten the bingles since like 2020.

3:29.0

The bills were kind of trending in the wrong direction in the week 17 game that never was a those far too early to put a cap on that weren't even competitive with the bingles. But they're like, you know, like they lost to the browns.

3:40.0

They lost a lot of good teams to show. I didn't realize how good their losses were to the cowboys that they barely lost in week two. Yeah.

3:50.0

The stealer. They man. Do you remember what happened in week one of the bingles? And there's no way you do. But no, well T. J. Watt. Retavic. Oh, that's right. That's right. It was the T. J. Watt game that they lost an overtime to the Steelers. Yeah.

4:04.0

And really, I mean, the bingles are it's a they treat the early season kind of like an NBA team like. We're going to we're going to cruise by the first six weeks and then we'll get serious.
