Hi friends. It's the Robcast episode 182, and this episode is called a retrieval of sorts.

And I threw in just a slight question mark there, a retrieval of sorts, because I don't know

if retrieval is the word. It's the word I've been using, and that's the beauty of this, especially

Patreon Robcast, because you can weigh in. I'd love to hear

what word you would use for all this. Retrieval feels right because it's a pattern I want to point out

that I've been seeing again and again, and I'm going to do my best to name it, and then we'll see

where you take it. And by retrieval, I don't mean nostalgia

and it's not being stuck in the past. It's a retrieval that is about being even more present

to your life right here, right now, and often involves clarity on the next step you take. So it's a retrieval,

but in the here and now moving forward sense. That's why I'm sticking with this word. I'm

going with it for now, but we'll see. So first, I want to point out what I keep noticing and then make a number of observations

about the nature of memory.

And then we'll hand it over to you and see where you take it.

Because I want to talk about bikes, something that I witnessed in Bristol in England a

couple years ago, and a class I took on how to crawl. And then, you know, we'll say some things

after that. Sound good? Okay, bikes. A couple months ago, I got this new bike,

and I love this bike so much. And I'm also working in this new space, so I've been riding my

new bike to this new space. And I'm telling you, by the time I get here to do my work,

I am in a state. It is, what is it about riding a bike to work

that you get there and you're like, is it even work when I've had that kind of elixir and

transcendent euphoria just to get here? And I keep laughing about this and I was talking about this with somebody

the other day and they were like, oh yeah, I ride my bike to where I work and it's the greatest.
