to the Capitol, and we're going to try and give the Democrats a hopeless, they're

never voting for anything. Not even one vote, but we're going to try and give our Republicans

the weak ones because the strong ones don't need any of our help. We're going to try and

give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.

So here we are, Hacks, first episode of the New Year, which was going to be.

But it sounds pretty much like the old year. Yeah, it is. Happy New Year, you guys. I wish

you were happier. I don't feel happy today. I do not. Here we are on the first day since

August of 1814 when the red coats invaded the Capitol, the United States Capitol, the citadel

of democracy is president like Biden called it today. You can still smell the tear gas rising

over it after an assault, an assault on our democracy and insurrection. So pretty, pretty

damn grim. Insighted by the president completely, the traitor in chief.

Yeah. I have to say, you know, I was, I was looking forward to this to getting together

with you guys in the new year. I thought fresh start, new president. You know, we had these

interesting races in Georgia. But you know what, Gibbs, we should have seen this coming.

We should have seen it coming. Well, we kind of did. You know, we talked about how he's

been, but this is, this was it, not the idea that it happened. Yeah, I mean, in some ways,

to your point, Axe, I mean, you know, Trump tweeted out, see you January the 6th. Yes.

I think a lot of people, I certainly was one of them. I wanted to think that he was going

to, you know, sort of huff and puff and, and, and, and do his magic act and seek his attention.
