The History this morning, 5.30 a.m. on Wednesday that Donald Trump has won the presidency

for a second time, this time after having served for four years, then disputing the 2020 election,

and then, of course, rallying a mob to the Capitol

to try to interrupt the peaceful transfer of power there.

Usher in potentially an unprecedented era in American history to have someone who believes firmly

that he has total presidential power in terms of official acts

based on the Supreme Court ruling earlier this year, does not have to serve in prison

despite being convicted in a criminal trial, and despite pressuring his own vice president

to overturn an election,

has been warmly embraced by the party, the Republican Party once again.

I do see it differently because I'm thinking about the people who are not a part of anybody's

elite who are hurting tonight.

There are African-American women who know a little bit about being talked down to, and know a little bit about having their economic dreams crushed, who tried to dream a big dream over the past couple of months.

And tonight they're trading in a lot of hope for a lot of hurt.

And they were hoping that maybe this time one of their own could be seen

as worthy. We've laid out the stakes in this crucial election where one side stands for freedom,

while the other meets the textbook definition of fascism, namely a far-right dictatorial regime like Hitler's Germany or Franco's
