And I'm Yasmin Ammer. So Andrea I was down in North Carolina

visiting my parents this weekend and I was looking through my old yearbooks, my old pictures, and

I come across this notebook from the 10th grade where a teacher

asked me to interview my grandmother. It was amazing to see that interview after all

these years. Did you ever have to do anything like that? Yeah, I do. I remember doing a family tree,

and I think this was back in elementary school,

but I remember asking my parents about their parents,

my grandparents, and just hearing these beautiful stories of them growing up.

I love doing that.

So imagine doing that project, you know, tracing your family history for years.

That's what Rachel Serati did.

She uncovered this incredible story.

Rachel's story aired in 2017,

but we wanted to share it with our listeners again today,

with a little something extra.
