I hope you're doing well today and you're hanging out in your garden doing some work,

enjoying some harvest, and maybe even building a new raised bed, which is exactly what we're talking about today. A very simple

technique for building a raised bed. Now I've talked about this many times before

as in the topic of raised beds but here's just a quick and easy design if you're looking to make something

simple with minimal construction expertise.

Again with raised beds you can get very wild, you can build

stackable ones, ones with benches, all sorts of fancy things like that, but

if you're just getting started, it makes a lot of sense to keep it simple so here's what I would

recommend first of all get two by 12 boards that way you don't have to stack

anything and you immediately have a 12 inch tall raised bed.

It's quite thick too with that two-by.

As we're talking wood, Douglas fir, cedar, both of those are fantastic choices.

Of course the cedar will be a little bit more expensive.

So by three pieces of equal length,

cedar, or Douglas fir.

Let's say you choose eight feet.

So if you choose eight feet, just cut one of them in half

and those are your short sides.

So you have 4 foot by 8 foot raised bed.

Now what you'll do is you'll line the short sides up

with the long side, so you basically fake create your raised

bed I like to put the short sides on the inside of the long sides so I'll preserve
