0:17.0	And my team discovered an extremely rare one, a galaxy that doesn't look quite like anything observed before.
0:26.9	This galaxy is so peculiar that it challenges our theories and our assumptions about how the universe works.
0:37.0	The majority of the galaxies are spiral,
0:40.3	similar to our own Milky Way.
0:42.3	We have strong theories about how these common galaxies form and evolve.
0:48.3	But we don't understand how rare galaxies form and evolve.
0:55.0	And especially puzzling rare case is Hog's object.
1:00.0	It has a very symmetric central body surrounded by a circular outer ring
1:07.0	with nothing visible, connecting them.
1:10.0	Hog-type galaxies are among the rarest types of galaxies with nothing visible, connecting them.
1:15.7	Hawk-type galaxies are among the rarest types of galaxies currently known.
1:20.1	They are fewer than one in 1,000 galaxies.
1:26.3	It's a mystery how the stars in the outer ring are just floating there in such an orderly manner.
1:30.3	That's interesting, right?
1:32.3	Hold on. Things are about to get more mysterious.
1:37.3	The galaxy that my team discovered is even rarer and much more complex than that.
1:43.3	You know, sometimes you search and search for these objects. Even rarer and much more complex than that.
1:49.6	You know, sometimes you search and search for these objects, and you find nothing.
1:54.0	But sometimes, it just appears in the background.
