This episode takes us behind the scenes of director John Krasinski's new sci-fi thriller, A Quiet Place.

Set in a very near future when most of Earth's population has been eradicated, the film follows a family of survivors

forced to live in silence as they hide from savage extraterrestrial creatures that hunt exclusively

by sound. In addition to a quiet place, Mr. Krasinski's directorial credits include the feature

films, The Hollers, and brief interviews with hideousous men and episodes of the television series,

The Office.

After a recent screening of the film at the DGA Theatre in New York, Mr. Krasinski spoke

with director Doug Lyman about filming A Quiet Place.

Highlights from their discussion include location scouting for the film on Zillow, why

Mr. Krasinski was afraid to ask his wife,

actress Emily Blunt, to play the lead role,

and the advice that guided him through directing,
