Now I had this conversation with someone recently in one of my coaching communities

that she approached her boss for a raise and her boss said no. And of course she was disappointed in that moment and then she said to me look I just don't know if she doesn't like me I don't know if she's just all about

penny pinching and she's all about keeping the profit I get it right our mind can go there and we

start easily assuming the worst of people and why they do what they do. It's very, very easy to go there in in our

minds. And then I asked a few more questions, right? The right questions are powerful. And I said to her, well, you know, overall how well is the company doing?

And she said, oh, it's been going pretty downhill, frankly, since 2020. Like, it's not as steady and stable as it used to be.

Some people have gone, but hey, I still do my job great, like I perform my job like a real A

player.

And I said, hmm, I wonder if it's possible that your boss did want to give you know

know the economy it's unsteady in some places some of us are afraid we don't

feel like we can really make financial moves,

increased staff salaries for example.

And as soon as I just even presented that as a potential reason that this girl didn't get the raise that she wanted,

she calmed down a bit.

And she thought, well, you you know that might be true I suppose

you know a couple of my friends lost their jobs in recent years and it hasn't been that easy

finding new work and I think look there is always ease there are always
