It is a different kind of walk than what I'm used to.

I'm on the other side of the country, literally.

Normally I'm two miles from the beach.

And this morning, I'm also two miles from the beach,

except they're totally different oceans.

Usually it's the Atlantic Ocean.

That's where Myrtle Beach is.

But today, it's the Pacific Ocean.

I'm in California.

A.O. and I are taking a quick trip to see several of our sons who live in California.

And we also have a wedding to attend.

And so we are in Goleta, California, which is in Santa Barbara County.

We're on the outskirts of Santa Barbara, which is, I believe, 80 miles from Los Angeles.

And we are staying at an Airbnb.

And so I'm leaving the Airbnb and heading to a coffee shop that I found online that

indicated it's a 10-minute walk from where we're staying. It's like, perfect.

Ava was awake as I left this morning. In fact, she's going to be running with our son,

our son, Andy. That's who lives here. He actually lives in Isla Vista, which is about five minutes

away. And so the two of them are going to be running this morning. And while they're doing that,

I'm walking to the coffee shop. So this 10-minute walk, today's 10-minute walk, is far different

from most of the walks I take
