Old Testament that gives us a powerful picture of God's purpose in suffering. It's the story of a young

girl's faith and a proud man's brush with death. I bet you've heard it before, but maybe not

quite in the same way as you'll hear it today. Let's rejoin Pastor J.D. right now as he teaches from

the book of Second Kings. Chapter 5, verse 1. Naman commander of the army of the king of Syria was a

great mighty man with his master and in high favor because by him

the lord had given victory to Syria now the syrians on one of their raids had carried off a little

girl from the land of Israel and she worked in the service of naman's wife and she said to her mistress

would that my lord were with the prophet who was in Samaria.

She's talking specifically about Elisha, who was one of the mightiest prophets of this era.
