Everybody needs encouragement.

One thing I've learned is that everybody's having a hard time.

With something, with someone,

everybody is fighting their battles and dealing with their burdens. And so everyone needs

encouragement, and isn't it beautiful, that just when we need it most, the Lord sends that

verse from heaven, just when we need it most, he sends a message to encourage us to continue in the faith.

We've been talking about living godly in an ungodly world, and we began by looking at an example

of godliness given to us in the book of Jude, which is Enoch, who walked with God until the very

end. And then we looked at a list of exhortations to godliness. God said, if you want to

stay godly, then there are things to remember and things to build and things to pray and things to

keep and things to look for. But now he brings us to a real encouragement for the godly. In fact,

though our study's not finished, we're jumping down to the final two verses of this book because I want you to see that the Lord gives his promise to those who obey the principles.

He says in verse 24, now. Don't you love that word now? The victory is not later, the victory is now.

Some people have the idea, well when Jesus comes, we can have victory. My brother,

you can have victory today. You're going to have complete victory when Jesus comes, but the Lord

has made it possible for you to be a victorious Christian right where you are. He is a present tense
