Today we are in the third week of a journey that we're calling the Immersed Challenge.

It's been a great season. This is the second year that we've done it as we're reading through the Bible together.

We're reading through the book of Luke and the book of Acts.

So if you're already

doing it, way to go. Proud of you. If you're a little bit behind, no guilt, no shame. If you haven't

started, you can start now. If you're on track, no judgment. So don't look at your spouse and say,

I'm better than you, by the way. But we're reading this last week. We read through Luke

chapter 11, 14, to the end of the book of Luke, which is all about the life and teachings of

Jesus. Next week, we're going to jump into the book of Acts, which is all about the start of

the early church and the coming of the Holy Spirit, the first half of the book of Acts. Both of

these books are written by Luke,

who was a doctor, who shared a lot of detail. One fourth of the New Testament comes from these

two books. And the reason we're doing this is because we believe that the Bible will change

your life when you read it. It has the power to change your thinking, your heart. It's God's word to us,

the authority for our lives, for what we believe and how we live. Whether you are new to faith,

long-time follower of Jesus, exploring faith, if you've yet to jump in, we want to invite you

to be a part of that. Now, what I've been doing with my messages in particular as I've been taking

a passage of scripture that really ministers to me throughout the course of the week as I'm reading.

So today, we're going to look at Luke chapter 18, and in just a moment, we're going to go to

that passage of scripture. It's a story or a parable that Jesus gives to us, and we'll jump in
