Hey, it's Callie Black here with today's thought. Let's open up to Genesis chapter 19, verse 26.

I do my best to try to relate personally to each person I read about in the scriptures. I want to try to figure out

what lesson I can learn from their actions and see what takeaway I can get. But I'll be honest,

learning from Lot's wife has always been a struggle because it seems like there's only stuff

to criticize and how do I relate and learn from her experiences?

Most of us know about Lot's wife from this singular action that we read about in Genesis

19, verse 26. But his wife looked back from behind him and she became a pillar of salt.

This is as they're walking away from the city of Sodom that they've been commanded to leave from the Lord. Now the good thing is, is that while this might

not seem super relatable and what am I supposed to learn, we have learned from modern revelation

and teachings that Lot's wife actually looked back

on Sodom longingly. This shows that she doubted the Lord's ability to give her something better

than the life that she already had. Now that is an emotion I can certainly relate to.

Time and time again, the Lord has shown me that when I am prompted and then choose to let go of

something I really like, whether it's a neighborhood, a job, a friend, a hobby, or a responsibility, he will never let me down. He will

always lead me to something better. So do I have the faith to let go of something good and look

forward to something even better. So the takeaway of the day, in five

words or less, look forward to the better. Thank you so much for being here today and for coming
