Today is the day the Lord has made, and these are the times through which God has decided we shall live.

Have you ever met someone who has been significantly traumatized by a life event? And maybe you have been. And that you have lived a long

while from that event, but there are moments in the day that can trigger you.

And depending on the life events, it could be a sound.

It could be, say, for instance, there's a very famous scene from the movie American

Sniper where the actor who plays Chris Kyle is in a tire store.

And they're just changing tires in his rig.

And it's the sound of the drills and the hammers.

And it moves Chris Kyle's mind from being in the tire store to being in Iraq.

And he has a flashback.

And he eventually goes and sees a therapist.

And the therapist wants Chris to know, hey, you know, you're safe and, you know, you're being hypervigilant and your body is defending itself. And he said, no, you don't get it. No, I'm not afraid. What I'm thinking of is all the people I left behind, all the people I didn't save. That's what I'm thinking about. I'm thinking I should be there. It's not like I'm quaking in my boots. It's not like this is alarming me for

my own safety. It's me thinking there's guys over there. I'm not over there doing Overwatch.
