Do you love Jesus?

It helps you understand the one thing that demonstrates desire for God above all else.

Those apostles who surrounded the Lord Jesus Christ were men who had a passion to obey Him.

And beginning in this 5th chapter of Acts, we see a passion for God demonstrated by these apostles,

which I am sure God wants demonstrated in the life of every single one of us.

So beginning in chapter 5, this is the passage in which Ananias and Safara have dropped dead as a result of disobeying God.

And then of course, the Bible says in verse 12,

and at the hands of the apostles, many signs and wonders were taking place among the people,

and they were all with one accord in Solomon's Portico.

But none of the rest dared to associate with them, however, the people held them in high steam.

And all the more believers in the Lord, multitudes of many women, were constantly being added to their number.

What was happening was in verse 15, that people who had sick friends and relatives were bringing them out,

so that when Peter came by, at least his shadow might fall on any one of them.

Of course, this stirred up the Pharisees and the Sadducees.

And the Bible says in the last part of verse 17, they were filled with jealousy.

And so they had the apostles put in public jail, verse 19.

But in angel of the Lord, during the night, opened the gates of the prison, and taken them out, he said,

go your way, stand and speak to the people in the temple, the whole message of this life.

And upon hearing this, they entered into the temple about daybreak and began to teach, so they didn't waste any time.

And of course, what happens as they began to teach, the Bible says, that in verse 25,
