Hello everyone, it's day two on the lockdown of Paris and what you're going to hear today is my

chat via phone with Paul who runs the Peloton Cafe. I thought it was interesting to chat to

someone who has a small business, not only a small business, but besides the cafe he also runs

bike about tours. So it's not just a coffee shop.

He's deep in the tourism industry as well.

Plus, he's a father of three children here in Paris.

He's been in this city for, I think it's about 18 years.

And he's a friend of the show on one of the very first episodes I ever did.

And, yeah, his cafe features kind of prominently in the upcoming book that I've written.

I say upcoming, it's almost out.

But let's talk about the lockdown, what's changed since yesterday before we get into the interview

with Paul.

You already know from yesterday's episode that they had rolled out a fine of

35 euros if you're caught outside of your house without the official form filled in. The official

form is something you can print off the internet or you can write it out by hand. Essentially it says,

I swear on my honor that I'm leaving the house for an essential reason,

whether that's exercise, shopping, medical reasons, those kind of things.

And yeah, if you're caught without it, especially if you're caught without it away from the

vicinity of your home, you will fine 35 euros.

Not anymore.

They've risen the price or the fee or the fine to 135, 138 euros, which

in American dollars is about the same, 138 euros in a UD, $250 Australian.
