Summary

The modified paleo diet called the Wahls protocol, developed by Dr. Terry Wahls to address her multiple sclerosis, can be a powerful diet for autoimmune and gut healing. In this episode, Dr. Wahls shares what really helps patients change their diet, what to include and avoid on the protocol, and whether adapting the protocol for gut health is ok. https://drruscio.com/a-nutrient-dense-paleo-diet-for-autoimmunity

How one could amicably make these concessions is, I'm hoping, something that our audience

1:56.0

will be quite interested in. We also talked about a behavioral change model that she's found to be effective,

2:04.9

and actually a clinical trial that she is enrolling patients also for those who have MS. So very

2:13.3

interesting conversation with Terry. One of the things that we touch on was how important it is

2:20.3

to personalize the diet to the individual. This is one of the things I really appreciate about our conversation today, which is even though she advocates for her wall's diet, she's very open-minded and understands that there's really a number of different

diets on offer for any given individual, and it's the clinician's responsibility to help guide

the patient to the diet that is best for them. This is one of the things that I wrote into
