All I wanted was a cup of coffee. I was coming up I-5 from the Sacramento Valley towards Oregon and

Chasta, now Chasta, the little town on the flank of the mountain, looked like

it would have a lot of coffee shops.

They turned out crowded, which seemed peculiar for a Saturday afternoon.

And I was about to leave again when I met the woman who channels the archangel Michael.

She could also channel... channels the archangel Michael.

She could also channel Berlin the magician,

an extraterrestrial named Omeron or Umeron,

the Count Saint Germain, some other well-meaning spirits, hard to take if you haven't

had your morning coffee yet.

Then I heard that an even better angel had just come into town and taken over somebody's television set in a house on Avenue B.

I ran right over. It was a small house. There must have been 50 people crammed around a living room.
