Misha Webley satirizes this dynamic in a new web series called Hassan Hates Portland.

It depicts some of the everyday experiences of a black man living in America's

whitest city.

The American Red Cross has put out an urgent call for volunteers to help with national disaster

relief. Right now, there are more than 900 Red Cross responders on the ground across 10 states

devastated by Hurricane Helene.

Volunteers need to be willing to travel to support emergency shelters and be in place for

at least two weeks.

And closer to home, a reminder that it's a good idea to have an emergency kit and a safety

plan.
