On Friday afternoon, under a leaden sky, the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky,

stood in front of the presidential palace, somber and visibly exhausted,

to deliver a grim warning to the nation.

Now Ukraine may find itself facing a very difficult choice,

either loss of dignity or risk of losing a key partner.

Ukraine's key partner, the United States, had held secret meetings with the Russians

and without Ukraine, to draw up a peace plan, one which many claim gives the Kremlin what it

wants.

And President Trump has issued an ultimatum to President Zelensky.

He has until Thursday to sign up to the deal or fight on without America.

Then he can continue to fight his little heart out.

With urgent talks in Geneva trying to come up with a better deal for Keeve,

President Zelensky has issued an urgent plea to European leaders.

It is crucial to support the principles on which Europe stands that borders cannot be

changed by force, that war criminals must not escape justice, and that the aggressor must pay fully for the war he started.

With the clock ticking and Thursday's deadline looming, what will President Zelensky decide?

Could this finally be the beginning of the end of the war? Or is this a trap that could

bring down the Ukrainian president and devastate his country?
