Isaiah 62 versus 1 and 2.

For Zion's sake I will not keep silent.

For Jerusalem's sake I will not remain quiet till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.

The nations will see your righteousness and all kings your glory.

You will be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will bestow.

And we're huddled in here this week because we have a really fun story to tell

and some really cool news. We have an announcement. It's not a birth

announcement but we do have an announcement. Maybe it's a birth announcement of

sorts. Anyhow, before we get there to keep you in suspense and riveted to your headphones or however

it is you digest podcasts, I want to go back into some teaching. It's been essential really ever

since while at heart and captivating the idea of the new name that God bestows on us a new name.

And you see this theme through the scriptures,

right, in the Old Testament and in the new,

that God calls Abram and he becomes Abraham and Sarah and she becomes Sarah and

Jacob becomes Israel and and then you have those beautiful stories like Gideon down in the threshing floor, you know, he's hiding in a well and the angel says,

Hail mighty warrior, you know, Gideon, scared knuckleheads is now the mighty warrior valiant one.

So you see that, right?

You don't see that flow and then into the New Testament, the theme continues on where Jesus begins to rename people.

So Simon becomes Peter, The Rock, and James and John become the Sons of Thunder. And the

the famous Damascus road story where Saul, the Avenger becomes Paul, the apostle and author of most of the New Testament,
