So with today being the first Sunday in Advent,

it would make sense to transition to a new sermon series,

but we've been absolutely loving this series

we've been in called Zeal for God's House.

And it's about the story God writes through the scriptures

that he is coming to dwell with his people.

So God's house is not just the church you attend. It's not a building.

It's not this singular moment in scripture where God starts this new movement in the New Testament.

It is the cover to cover Genesis to Revelation pursuit of God that he wants to dwell with his people.

And so we've seen sermon after sermon about the church, the big

sea church, and our little sea church and what our individual calling is. And last Sunday,

I could have lived in that moment forever. I don't know if you were out of town last Sunday,

but when Gage Henry brought that word and we walked forward to take communion from the hands

of another person speaking, this is the body of Christ broken for you.

This is the blood of Jesus shed for you.

There was something powerful about what God was doing in that moment in space.

So I thought, is there any way for us to merge Advent with zeal for God's house?

And then I remember that my favorite verse of all related to celebrating Christmas is

John chapter 1 verse 14. You don't have to turn there. I'm just going to read it. It says,

The word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one

and only son, who came from the father full of grace and truth.

John says the word, that's the Greek word, Lagos.
