Sixteen-year-old Abbeian and the rest of the Thinee family had to flee Syria because of the wall and after

struggling for financial survival in Jordan they're now hoping to get to Europe.

Everyone deserves a better life. But Abbian's father, Abdur-Oov, was beaten by guards when their first

attempt to get to Greece on a boat, failed. Abian's sister, 22-year-old Alma,

and the youngest brother Yarmen, who's 13, were terrified of trying the boats again

as they can't swim.

Nervous, worry, the waves, the boat turnover this is what I'm afraid about it.

So the family attempted to walk to Europe instead.

When that failed too their mother matched was getting desperate.

I am very, very tired.

It's important.

I lost my hope.

Lost everything.

I'm Manveen Rana and I followed the The Knee family for five weeks on their remarkable journey.

A month after they'd first arrived in Turkey and

after several failed attempts I received this message from Abian.

Where's grieuis? Turns out it's the sort of elation that can't quite be contained in BBC appropriate language.

It was accompanied by map locations and a selfie, showing the family and some friends walking across the Greek island of Samos.

I flew straight out to join them.
