We are in the middle of perhaps the most difficult year that we've ever faced in our lifetime.

We've gone from a global pandemic to months and months of quarantine, to the horrific death of George

Floyd at the hands of law enforcement. In the middle of our

city there has been non-stop protesting and there's also been a great deal of rioting

and violence and looting.

And we are now at a point across our nation

where every state is experiencing protesting.

Whether it's Los Angeles or New York or Houston or Seattle.

People are angry, they're frustrated.

They feel in so ways paralyzed and there's a need for us to have a conversation as a society, as a nation, about racism and social injustice.

And there is so much change that all of us I'm convinced long to see happen in our nation.

And I'm so grateful for the context for conversation that we're in right now.

But I also know that I am so tired. It just seems as if we have

faced one challenge after another challenge, after another challenge, and if you're

like me, you're almost at your emotional and psychological and spiritual max.

You have found yourself in the middle of a crowd and you can't work your way through.

Which by the way has been one of my great nightmares in my life.
