Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on Talk Radio. This morning it looks very much as though the game is up. Boris Johnson returns to the House

of Commons today to make a statement on his Brexit plans after sending a new proposal to Brussels yesterday,

which effectively takes us out of the European Union, just in time for the end of October.

This opposition to Brexit looks more and more confused and bewildered, especially after Boris's speech to Manchester Conference yesterday,

but we shall find out what tricks, if any, Jeremy Corbyn has up his

sleeve. My guess is that, as I said yesterday, they have run out of ideas. We'll be talking to

Annan Menon from the UK in a changing Europe to find out what he makes of the actual declaration

of intent from Boris Johnson, because of course it does include an Irish backstop scenario,

which some people think will work, and some people

don't. Certainly, he seems to have got the DUP on board. He seems to have got the ERG on board as well,

who have basically declared the deal to be fantastic. We'll be looking into the reaction from

Brussels this morning as well, where the deal has not actually been dismissed out of hand.

And whether the bureaucrats there will not have to work out, whether it's a trap,

or whether it is a way out of the Brexit logjam that we've all found ourselves in for the last two and a half years.
