Hello there and welcome to another episode of the fully charged podcast coming to you on

0:17.6

a surprisingly sunny day in late November in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern

0:24.2

Ireland. The reason I mentioned the location is because I'm talking to someone who does

0:29.3

not live here who lives a very long way away in Australia and regular viewers may know, may not,

0:37.4

why should you, but it's a may know that I'm married to an Australian and have been for the last

0:41.9

35 years and we have two children who have Australian passports and we've spent a lot of time in

0:49.4

Australia in the last 30 years and I haven't spent any time in Australia for a long, long time for

0:54.7

all the usual reasons, although I am going there shortly to meet up with the family. First

1:00.9

time in five years, I'm very excited about that and I'm very excited to discover what is changing

1:08.7

and what has changed in Australia in the last five years since I was last there and that is why

1:14.8

talking to today's guest is going to be very, very interesting. It's the big catch-up on Australian

1:21.2

energy, a renewable energy, the transition away from coal, the transition to electric vehicles

1:28.2

and talking to someone who is very well informed about all those topics. I'm going to come to that

1:34.3

very soon, but just before we start, I want to quick mention for our lovely sponsors,

1:40.1

My Energy, a company that we've really does, there is a genuine strong connection between the

1:46.3

fully charged show and My Energy. One of the first bits of publicity they ever got was when I met

1:53.0

with Jordan Prompton up in Orkney and they installed the very first zappy charger they'd ever made

1:59.4

at a farm that had a big wind turbine that was generating all their power and they wanted to use

2:03.2

that power in their car and that's kind of where this whole idea started. I've just checked,

2:10.2

actually, they've done something like, I've just got to have a look because it was an amazing

2:14.0

amount of charges they've done with zappy, there's zappy chargers since they first started doing it,

2:19.8

just mind-boggling. Oh, there is, 15,297,779, just at that point charges have been done by zappy's,
