| 0:15.0 | We aspire to create content and episodes that are engaging and forming, entertaining and basically something in there for everybody that has something to do in the outdoors. |
| 0:27.0 | Outdoors, men and women, hunters, conservationists, all that good stuff. One thing before getting to the episode, if you have time, please take a minute and go to our page on Apple Podcast and leave us a rating and write us a review and do the same on Spotify with the exception review. |
| 0:43.0 | You can't write those there, but you can't leave us a rating. Takes literally seconds. Maybe a minute if you go to the review route and it helps the show a ton. So please just take a little bit of time out of your day and do that. |
| 0:54.0 | Today's episode is a fun one. We have a new guest to the podcast Garrett Gray, who has been a product manager and working in the products of Primos for several years now. |
| 1:06.0 | And Garrett recently went on an elk hunt with us to New Mexico. And it was fun to get a perspective on someone that's doing these elk hunts that hasn't been on just a ton of them or hasn't been with the same group like we have for years. |
| 1:23.0 | So it's a nice fresh perspective and it's a perspective of someone that hasn't got to go just a ton. And so I think it's insightful for somebody that is wanting to go elk hunting that has never been before someone that's been able to go a little bit but not a lot. |
| 1:39.0 | I just think there's a lot of good information in there. Plus Garrett is a real fun, high energy guy. He was extremely fun to have in camp and it was fun to hear him recount his time in elk country. So I'm going to quit rambling and we'll get right into the episode. Thank you for listening. |
| 1:57.0 | You good to go. Yeah, cool. Let's do this. Cool. |
| 2:02.0 | I can hear the coffee making. It's fine. Yeah, I mean, it's early this morning. We got you got you up and running. Unfortunately, don't I? |
| 2:10.0 | Well, you had to know, man, you're good. You had to drop your kid off and you got work to tend to let's give you a informal formal introduction. |
| 2:23.0 | Okay. Garrett Gray, you've been with Primos for a little over seven years now, seven years, started as an APM and now I'm a PM work mainly on Primo stuff. |
| 2:37.0 | So like even for me that knows what you do when you said APM, I had to sit there for a second ago. |
| 2:45.0 | So for yeah, let's divulge that that acronym for a second. Yeah, sure. So assistant product manager. Yeah, work on all new products. |
| 2:55.0 | The products that are currently in the market. What's out there? What's selling? What's not? You know, just taking care of that line, making sure that those products are moving forward. |
| 3:03.0 | And then also coming out with new products, bringing them from concept all the way through getting them into stores, consumers. |
| 3:11.0 | Yeah. So started out as a young pup as an assistant product manager and seven years later, I'm a product manager and pretty much handling all the Primo side. |
| 3:21.0 | You know, we have multiple brands that we run. Right. Yeah. I'm mainly focused on that Primo side. Yeah. I knew it meant seven years. It's like, well, I knew, I mean, because you had been there. |
| 3:30.0 | Like I'd been there nine years before the on X transition. So it was like, I know you'd been there a long time too. When you said, when you put a number by as my seven years, you've been there a minute. It's crazy. It's crazy. I mean, yeah, move down here. I just can't believe we moved down seven years ago and just haven't look back. |
| 3:47.0 | You took a leap too. I mean, because it wasn't like, so Garrett didn't move to Mississippi from Alabama, a little couple hour drive, like tell folks where you were originally. |
| 4:00.0 | So originally, I'm from upstate New York back two hours north, New York City in the Tatsquil mountains is where I grew up. And then went to college out in Ohio. That's where I met my wife. And we ended up getting both our first jobs in that college town. |
| 4:15.0 | She's a teacher and I went into the business side. And I was I was started as an APM out there as well and worked my way up to a proc manager. But I was doing you know some soccer stuff and some outdoor games, billiards, starts just wasn't really my passion or anything. Right. |
