TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

GENESIS 14:17-20 - 17 After his return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King's Valley). 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. (He was priest of God Most High.) 19 And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; 20 and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!” And Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

PSALM 110:4 - The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, “You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.”

HEBREWS 7:25 - Consequently, He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

0:14.2	a person who's truly mysterious, who carried an air of mystery about them? Today we're
0:20.6	going to be talking about a guy named Melchizedek, who is one of the most mysterious figures
0:26.0	in all of scripture. We're going to get into that in just a moment. But before we do, I wanted to
0:30.5	say welcome to people who are listening to the morning mindset from around the world. There are

0:49.9	your mind aligned with the truth of God's Word. All right, today we're looking at this story of
0:56.7	the life of Abraham, we're in Genesis chapter 14, 17 to 20. And I'm going to read the same passage
1:02.8	I read yesterday because there's a guy mentioned here who is one of the most mysterious figures
1:08.3	in all of scripture. And his name is Melchizedek. It says, after his return from the defeat of
1:15.2	Kedor Leomur and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the valley
1:21.6	as Shiva, that is the king's valley. And Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine. He
1:28.8	was priest of Godmost High. And he blessed him and said, blessed be Abraham by Godmost High,
1:34.8	possessor of heaven and earth, and blessed be Godmost High who has delivered your enemies into your
1:40.7	hand. And Abram gave him a tenth of everything. Now this guy, Melchizedek, is a true mystery man.
1:49.6	He is a guy about whom we have lots of questions because this is the first and only time he is
1:56.5	mentioned in the Old Testament other than his name being used in Psalm chapter 110 in a prophecy
2:04.1	about someone else. So Melchizedek, let's just talk about him as we see him here in the book of
2:10.4	Genesis. Okay, says he is king of Salem. Now some scholars think Salem may have been short
2:16.8	for Jerusalem, which to this point has not been a major city in the biblical story. But even more
