slain in a case that saw a move, one that offered her a bright future, actually placed her

Helene Prasinski, 21 years old, was staying at an aunt's home in Denver, Colorado, with a friend

named Kitsie Snow, while she was

interning at K-H-O-W radio. An aspiring journalist and junior at Wheaton College of Massachusetts,

Helene worked her normal shift on January 16, 1980, and was expected to return that evening,

as per usual. She usually took a bus home and got off at a stop just a few blocks from where she was living.

But on that particular night, she never made it home.

When the clock struck 10.30 and Helene was still nowhere to be found,

her aunt called the local police and reported her missing.

Her whereabouts wouldn't remain a mystery for very long, and the following morning,

her brutalized body was found in a field near Daniels Park Road by a mother out traveling
