On 30 December 1998, Alan had been out with his partner, Jane Rowe, and their friend, Nigel Jones, enjoying a few drinks at a local pub. During an altercation at a Chinese restaurant at approximately 11:30pm, Alan and Jayne argued briefly. That argument continued when they got home. As Jayne went upstairs for 30 seconds in the early hours of 31 December, Alan was brutally stabbed to death outside the house. Just who was responsible for his murder?
