We live in a very mobile world.

Everyone is in a hurry to get somewhere.

Throughout Scripture, God often taught people the greatest lessons along the journey.

Today, we continue with Scott Pauli, our study through the great journeys

of the Bible. Our prayer is that you will rediscover the adventure of walking with God.

In our last study, we learned that everybody is moving in one of two directions.

Which way are you headed today? Are you moving closer to God or are you taking steps away from God?

We're in Ruth chapter one. Now Ruth's an amazing book. It's the first book in the Bible to bear the name of a woman

and it has a lesson for every man, every woman,

and every young person. We all need it. It's a book of history, and in this history, there's a

great example and lesson for us to learn. There are many wonderful truths in the book of Ruth,

but let's limit ourselves to this great journey. Alimelech took a journey to Moab. Remember, he moved the wrong direction away from God.

Let's look at the exact opposite of that.

Alimelech is gone.

His sons are gone.

Naomi is left all by herself.

She has two daughter-in-laws, and she says to them, I'm going home.

stays there in Moab. But the other is the woman whose book we are reading for Ruth.
