Hello everyone. Merry Christmas. I hope that you are having the best day. It is so special that

Christmas lands on a Wednesday. And as you know, Wednesdays are some of our favorite days around here

because that means we get to bring you an episode. Touching, heartfelt, real, full of laughter,

quippy, practical, so practical.

And today, I pray that it's all those things still, even though it's shorter, it's smaller

so that you can spend some time with your family.

And in the midst of today, in the fun and the chaos and the laughter, or the stillness

and the quiet and the loneliness wherever you are on this

spectrum of grief and gladness on a holiday. A prayer that has blessed me in my heart as a wife,

as a mom, as a friend, as a sister, daughter, and all the parts that I feel like we have to play

on holidays. So would you just let this wash over you? This specific prayer comes from a beautiful liturgy by my friend, Kayla Craig.

She has incredible online resources, but then she also has a book called To Light Their Way,

which is a liturgy for parents.

And it is so beautiful, stunning.

Like the words, oh, I just, yes, the words are exactly I feel like what most times my heart needs to say out loud that I just can't find myself.

And that's what liturgyes are for.

So this is for you today.

I just pray that this washes over you, that this centers your heart, that this calms your mind with the chaos of whatever today looks like, whether you are just schlepping.

All the things to and fro from all your family's houses or you are home

for the holidays and it feels lonely and echoy and quiet or maybe it's just so chaotic and there's

children and littles and you're trying to just soak it all in it just is very overstimulating

you know your story best and so i pray that no matter you are, these prayers would land exactly where they need to.
