Friends, how do you go about enduring the difficulties that come in life?

What is it that helps you? What is it that gets you through in a positive, in a helpful way?

That's what we're going to be talking about today is we consider a mindset that will help us endure, according to

1 Peter 2.19. Welcome to the morning mindset. This is an opportunity for you to join us in getting

your mind aligned with the truth of God's word for this day. We are in the middle of a series called

Mind War where we're learning how to control the thoughts we have and how to direct them in a way that will fuel our Christian life and bring glory to our Savior Jesus Christ.

If you are learning from the morning mindset, growing and benefiting from the morning mindset, would you take a moment to pause this recording and tell somebody?

Just tell a friend, a neighbor,

someone from your Bible study at church, a sibling, a child, someone about the morning mindset,

to help us spread the word about what God is doing and helping us get our minds aligned.

All right, before we read from 1 Peter chapter 2, verse number 19, I invite you to pray with me.

Father, we are humbly asking you to guide us as we read your word.

We want to be saturated with it and full of understanding so that we can apply it rightly for your glory.

In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Okay, friends, 1st Peter 2.19 says this,

for this is a gracious thing. When mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly.

Okay, so let's get the context here.

Peter is writing to a group of people who are enduring persecution for the sake of their Christian faith.

So because they've become Christians, people who are not Christians are persecuting them.

They're Jewish people persecuting.

There were some Roman pagan people who were persecuting them. And it's all because
