Jeremiah chapter 50, verse 34, their redeemer is strong.

The Lord of hosts is his name.

Oh, what a good word.

God speaking to his people, basically saying, don't be afraid of other nations,

because your Redeemer is strong. He's the Lord of hosts. He's the Lord of Heavenly armies.

So you have nothing to fear. I read this first and I just think about all the tragic,

painful, harmful, horrible consequences of sin that I see around me in the world, around us and the world, we all see them. And when it seems like sin is prevailing, Satan is winning,

just want to remind you based on Jeremiah 50, verse 34, he will lose. He is not a victor. He has been defeated by Jesus, the Redeemer, who is strong, who is infinitely strong,

which means you can trust in Him and His redemption. You can trust that sin will not have the last word, that sorrow will not have the last

word. Jesus, the Redeemer, will have the last word. The Lord of hosts is His name, the Lord of Heavenly

Armies. This is what we read about in Revelation that was such an encouragement to followers of Jesus in the

first century surrounded by a sinful, evil Roman Empire where Christians are being persecuted. And God gives

this word to remind them in Revelation that the Lord of hosts, Jesus himself, is coming back, riding on a white horse,

and you will see his victory.

So hold fast with faith in him, with trust in him, and the redemption he is working.

God, we praise you for your power to redeem. Jesus, we praise you as our

redeemer who lives. Think about Job, even in the middle of his suffering saying, I know that I have

a redeemer who lives, and in the end, he will stand upon the earth. God, we praise you for that reality. So we say

today we trust in your redeeming power and your redeeming purposes. We praise you as the Lord of

heavenly armies and we trust in you. We rest in you in you god we pray for deliverance from all fear

from all worry from all anxiety because we know you're our redeemer you are infinitely strong
